A Heartwarming Experience Caring for a Young Learner from Dubai in Bali
Spending time with a lovely family from Dubai in Bali was truly a memorable experience. I was entrusted to care for their bright and curious six-year-old daughter during their stay. Beyond simply supervising, my role included guiding her through her daily online school sessions—ensuring she stayed focused, prepared, and engaged with her lessons. It was inspiring to see her enthusiasm for learning and how quickly she adapted to the routine.
Outside of study time, we enjoyed relaxing moments at the resort pool, often meeting and socializing with other families from Dubai. These shared experiences created a warm and friendly environment, making the days even more enjoyable. The parents were kind and supportive, which made communication easy and the overall experience smooth. This opportunity reminded me how meaningful it is to not only care for a child’s needs but also contribute positively to their learning and daily happiness.
Caring for children from different cultural backgrounds always brings a unique and enriching experience, and this particular journey with a family from Dubai was no exception. From the moment they reached out, I could already sense that they were kind and respectful. When we finally met in person, that impression was confirmed. The parents were warm, easy to communicate with, and very clear about their expectations, which made it comfortable for me to step into my role.
My main responsibility was to take care of their six-year-old daughter during their stay in Bali. She was an incredibly smart and curious child, full of energy and always eager to learn. One of the most important parts of my role was assisting her with her online school. Every day, I helped prepare everything she needed—making sure her device was ready, her learning space was comfortable, and she was mentally prepared to focus.
During the lessons, I guided her gently, helping her stay attentive and understand the instructions from her teachers. At times, I would assist with small tasks or clarify what she needed to do, ensuring she didn’t feel overwhelmed. It was rewarding to see how independent she could be while still benefiting from a bit of guidance. Her discipline and intelligence made the process smooth, and over time, we developed a natural rhythm that worked well for both of us.
Outside of school hours, our time together was filled with relaxation and fun. One of our favorite spots was the resort pool. It became a place not just for swimming, but also for social interaction. We often met other families from Dubai who were staying at the same resort, and this created a lively and friendly atmosphere. The children would play together while the adults shared conversations, making it feel like a small community away from home.
These moments were important because they allowed the child to balance her responsibilities with enjoyment. After focusing on her studies, she could unwind, build friendships, and simply be a kid. I always made sure she was safe, comfortable, and happy during these activities, while also encouraging positive interactions with others.
Working with this family was truly a pleasant experience. The parents trusted me, and that trust allowed me to do my job effectively. They were appreciative and supportive, which made a big difference in creating a positive working environment.
Overall, this experience reminded me that being a nanny is not just about supervision—it’s about creating a supportive, structured, and joyful environment for a child. Whether it was helping with online learning or sharing simple moments by the pool, every part of the day contributed to a meaningful and memorable experience for both the child and myself.
